Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action
“I applaud the Florida Senate for taking a big step towards strengthening the integrity of their elections. The creation of an Office of Election Crimes and Security within the Department of State is a bold and necessary step that provides state officials with the tools to thoroughly investigate violations of election law and any election-related irregularities, further improving public confidence in the outcomes of elections. Improving voter list maintenance and moving towards full voter ID safeguards for mail ballots, are commonsense, popular, and essential to securing public faith in elections. I hope the Florida House moves quickly to pass this bill, which makes it easy to vote and hard to cheat and gets it to the governor’s desk for his signature.”
