“The Florida House’s move to fortify their elections by passing this election integrity bill is a victory for Florida’s voters. The creation of a new Office of Election Crimes and Security within the Department of State is a bold decision that will empower officials with the tools necessary to investigate election law violations and irregularities, providing a much-needed measure of protection against fraud. In addition, this bill strengthens maintenance of state voter rolls and moves towards full voter ID safeguards for mail ballots, policies that are commonsense, popular, and highly effective in ensuring against election mischief and bolstering public confidence. Now, this measure heads to Gov. DeSantis. I look forward to him signing this bill and preserving Florida as a model for making it easy to vote and hard to cheat.”
