Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:
“Governor Evers shot down a number of common-sense election safeguards passed by Wisconsin legislators. Americans overwhelmingly favor reforms that make it easy to vote and hard to cheat, but once again he was unwilling to put Wisconsin voters first. With these vetoes, Governor Evers has kept open the spigot of private election funding, so-called ‘Zuck Bucks’ which were distributed in 2020 with a clear and alarming partisan bias. He has also refused to strengthen voter ID requirements, despite polling showing that more than 80% of voters favor photo ID laws. The people of Wisconsin are surely disappointed with their Governor.”
