Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:
“Honest Elections Project Action applauds Governor Youngkin for ending the practice of automatically restoring voting rights to felons leaving prison. Automatically restoring the franchise to convicted criminals who have not even completed their sentences shows a lack of respect for victims. Most felons should be able to earn back the right to vote, but that decision should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. That sensible policy is exactly what the Youngkin administration has set out to do.”
