Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:
“Honest Elections Project Action applauds the North Dakota state legislature for passing a ban on approval voting and on ranked choice voting (RCV). According to the Constitution, state governments are the ultimate arbiters of election law and have an interest in the integrity and consistency of their election processes.”
“Both RCV and approval voting are complicated systems that many voters do not understand, causing confusion and distrust in election outcomes. North Dakota is right to ensure localities within its borders are not allowed to use either approval voting or RCV.”
