“Congratulations to the Ohio Senate for sending legislation to ban the foreign funding of ballot issue campaigns to Governor DeWine’s desk for signing. For too long, Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss has played an outsized role Ohio politics through his giving to Sixteen Thirty Fund, which has spent millions of dollars on ballot issue campaigns in the state.
“Honest Elections Project Action thanks President Huffman and Senator McColley for their strong leadership on this crucial issue. We now urge Governor DeWine to sign it into law to officially rid the state of foreign influence in its elections.
