Honest Elections Project Action Reacts to Sixth Circuit Oral Argument in Ohio Foreign Funding Ban Case

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:

“It’s no surprise that the Sixth Circuit panel expressed strong skepticism toward Marc Elias’s argument that Ohio has no right to protect its political process from foreign interference. States clearly have the authority to block foreign influence, and American citizens expect them to use it. Elias styles himself a defender of democracy, yet he is once again in court demanding that judges allow his partisan clients to flood our states with foreign dark money. The Sixth Circuit has already ruled against Elias once on this issue, and I look forward to a second ruling upholding Ohio’s ban on foreign funding for ballot measures.”
