Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:
“Congratulations to Senator Gavarone, Secretary LaRose, and Governor DeWine for once again improving Ohio elections through the passage and signing of SB 293. From now on, Ohio—like most states—will require mail-in ballots to be received by Election Day. The bill also bolsters proof of citizenship requirements, helping to ensure that only citizens are voting in Ohio elections. These are popular, commonsense measures that will speed up results, secure elections, and continue to build trust in the democratic process. Once again, Ohio is acting to keep it easy to vote and hard to cheat in the Buckeye State.”
