Honest Election Project Action Testifies in Support of Kansas Bill Requiring Citizenship Status on Driver’s Licenses and ID Cards

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:
“Voter-ID requirement is perhaps the simplest yet most effective election integrity policy, and the Kansas legislature is right to work towards strengthening the state’s existing requirements by enshrining voter-ID into its constitution. In addition, denoting citizenship status on driver’s licenses and identification cards makes it easy to prove citizenship when it comes time to register to vote. This common-sense election safeguard protects elections from fraud and would enhance voter confidence in outcomes.

“Yesterday, Honest Elections Project Action was proud to be represented by its Legal Policy Director, Jackie Doyer, who provided testimony before the House Committee on Elections in support of both of these policies. We urge the Kansas House Elections Committee to swiftly advance these bills to secure Kansas elections from fraud and protect the rights of Kansans.”
