Honest Elections Project Action Applauds Michigan House Passage of Bills to Ban Foreign Funding of Ballot Issue Campaigns and Election Administration

“For years, Michigan’s elections have been influenced by more foreign money and influence than any other state thanks to left-wing groups like the Sixteen Thirty Fund and New Venture Fund, which combined have accepted hundreds of millions in foreign donations. Honest Elections Project Action applauds the Michigan House for passing two bills—HB5197 and HB5198—to get foreign money out of ballot issue campaigns and private election administration grant programs. We urge the Senate to quickly take up and pass these critical bills.”
