“Thanks to a loophole in federal law, ballot issue campaigns have long been bankrolled by foreign nationals. Securing elections from foreign interference is a commonsense and necessary step to ensure the people of Iowa remain the priority. Honest Elections Project Action was proud to be represented by its Legal Director, Jackie Doyer, who provided testimony in support of HF 2044, and we urge the House to swiftly pass this bill to close the loophole and secure Iowa’s elections from all foreign activity.”
