Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:
“For years, a loophole in federal law has allowed foreign nationals, like left-wing Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss, to indirectly contribute over tens of millions to ballot issue campaigns across the country. Wyss has given more than $280 million to the progressive Sixteen Thirty Fund, which in turn, has donated more than $130 million to ballot issues campaigns in states across the country, a tactic that progressive operatives have admitted to using to try to drive turnout in candidate elections.
“That is why I submitted testimony today in the Senate Elections Law and Municipal Affairs Committee to strengthen Senate Bill 534 to affirmatively close this loophole. Honest Elections Project Action urges New Hampshire lawmakers to amend this legislation to ensure New Hampshirites are free from foreign influence when they head to the ballot box on Election Day.”
