Honest Elections Project Action Applauds House Republicans for Prioritizing Proof of Citizenship Requirements

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:

“Despite incessant handwaving from Democrats and many in the media, it is an undeniable fact that noncitizens vote in federal elections—and federal law makes it too hard for states to stop them. In fact, the law prevents states from requiring proof of citizenship from every voter when they register. Every illegal vote cast by a noncitizen cancels out the vote of a law-abiding American. Federal law is broken, and Americans want it fixed. Honest Elections Project Action applauds House Republicans for fighting to make it easy to vote but harder to cheat.”
