Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:
“Honest Elections Project (HEP) Action congratulates the Louisiana Committee on Senate and Governmental Affairs for favorably reporting a constitutional amendment that would ban private funding of election administration in Louisiana. Private grants for election administration from ideologically motivated entities like the left-wing dark money-funded Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) sow distrust in the electoral process.
The Louisiana legislature would be right to ban this practice in their state. HEP Action now urges the state Senate to pass this resolution and allow Louisiana voters to decide for themselves whether or not they want entities with vested interests in election outcomes to have a hand in election administration.”
