Honest Elections Project Action Applauds Missouri for Becoming Eighth State to Ban Foreign Funding of Ballot Issue Campaigns in 2025

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:

“Today, Missouri joins a growing list of states to ban the direct and indirect foreign funding of ballot issue campaigns. Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss has funneled nearly $300 million through the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a dark money group that has spent $130 million on ballot measures in 26 states. Missouri has seen more of this foreign-tied money pour in—nearly $13 million—than almost any other state. That makes today’s victory all the more significant. Honest Elections Project Action applauds State Senator Ben Brown, the Missouri legislature, and Governor Kehoe for taking bold action to protect Missouri’s constitution from foreign interference.”
