Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:
“Honest Elections Project Action is pleased the Missouri legislature took the next step to let voters decide for themselves whether they want to ban non-citizen voting and ranked-choice voting (RCV). I was honored to submit written testimony for the hearing on this legislation before it ultimately passed.
“The bottom line is non-citizen voting and RCV both erode trust in election outcomes. People who are not American citizens should not be making decisions about how Americans should govern themselves. RCV confuses voters, makes voting harder, and turns elections into a black box. We urge the full Missouri House to take up this legislation and take the next step toward banning these practices for good.”
