Honest Elections Project Action Applauds Montana Legislature for Passing Election Integrity Measures

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:

“Honest Elections Project Action applauds the Montana legislature for passing bills to ban the private funding of election administration and ranked choice voting. Both of these measures are key to boosting voter confidence in election outcomes.

“Efforts to pump money into election offices by outside groups such as the left-wing dark money funded Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) decreases voters’ confidence in election administration. Private money, no matter where it comes from, has no place in election administration.

“Ranked choice voting (RCV) also hurts voter confidence in election results because it is a complicated process that makes voting harder, particularly for vulnerable voters. RCV forces voters to rank candidates they do not support or risk their ballot being tossed out. Ranked-choice voting is a solution in search of a problem. Montana is right to prioritize the passage of these election integrity measures.”
