“Ohio lawmakers have done their job by passing a commonsense bill that makes it easier to vote and harder to cheat in Ohio. Now it’s time for Governor DeWine to do his job by signing that bill into law. HB 458 implements key policies including true photo ID requirements for all ballots, whether cast in person or by mail, free IDs for those who need them, and stronger safeguards for ballot drop boxes. The bill also reduces the number of days for ballots to come in after an election, speeding up results. Governor DeWine is correct when he says that elections work well in Ohio, but there is always room for improvement. Governor DeWine has the chance to enact best practices that will strengthen Ohio’s election system and turn the Buckeye State into a national leader for election integrity.”
