Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:
“Honest Elections Project Action urges Utah lawmakers to pass HB0290 – legislation that would end the ranked-choice voting pilot program in the state once and for all. The pilot project has succeeded only in proving that RCV is a complicated process that makes it harder to vote. Half of the Utah jurisdictions that have tried RCV have since opted to abandon it, sending a clear message that voters don’t like it and don’t want it. Utah legislators should officially end it, making elections consistent once again in the state.”
