Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:
“Today, Honest Elections Project Action Legal Policy Director Jackie Doyer provided testimony before the Kansas House Elections Committee in support of House Bill 2452, which would require municipalities to consolidate its election days. Holding local elections at various times of year creates confusion and inefficiency, excessive government spending in conducting elections, and disproportionately prioritizes special interests as voter turnout significantly decreases. Passing a law to consolidate municipality elections is a necessary reform to ensure election reliability, secure election integrity, and increase voter confidence in the electoral process in the state of Kansas.”
