“For years, Michigan’s ballot issue campaigns have been tainted by foreign influence more than any other state in the country, thanks to a loophole in federal law. Michigan House Republicans are right to prioritize this common sense legislation to ban foreign contributions to ballot measures to protect their elections from undue foreign influence. Honest Elections Project Action applauds the House Rules Committee for advancing this legislation and urges the full House to finish the job by passing it on the House floor.”
