Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action:
“Texas should be congratulated on passing a strong voter integrity law that will ensure it’s easy to vote but hard to cheat. The critical reforms included in this law like voter ID for absentee ballots and protections against ballot trafficking enjoy broad bipartisan support in public polling and provide a model to other states for what successful reform looks like.
“Despite months of theater that saw Texas Democrats abandon their duties and fly to DC, Texas has expanded minimum hours for early voting and guarantees that voters who are in line when the polls close can still vote, while adopting some of the strongest voting safeguards. This is a resounding victory for free and fair elections.”
