Honest Elections Project Action Reacts to Disappointing Michigan Supreme Court Decision

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action:

“Today, the Michigan Supreme Court regrettably chose to disregard Michigan law and allow the left-wing group Promote the Vote to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot despite failing to fully account for the impact of that measure on the state’s constitution This dark money-fueled initiative makes sweeping changes to Michigan elections, including banning true photo ID laws, allowing billionaires to influence elections by pumping private money into election offices, and exposing Michigan to expensive and frivolous lawsuits by groups that aim to use courts to rewrite the law. Americans want it to be easy to vote and hard to cheat, but these policies do the opposite. Today’s ruling is a loss for Michiganders and for the rule of law, but voters will have the final say.”
