Honest Elections Project Action Reacts to Georgia’s Record-Breaking Early Voting Turnout

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action

“The record-breaking turnout we’re seeing in Georgia’s early voting is a clear rebuttal to the boycotts and smear campaigns organized to brand Georgia’s new election law as ‘Jim Crow.’ Turnout so far is triple what it was at this point in 2018’s primary, and more than double that in 2020. Once again, facts are disproving the left’s ‘voter suppression’ narrative. Georgia’s SB 202 brought many commonsense and overwhelmingly popular election reforms, including stronger voter ID protections and more time to vote early than New York and Delaware, President Biden’s home state. Georgia was one of the first states to adopt election integrity reforms last year, and these numbers prove that no matter what the left says, the state made it easier to vote and harder to cheat. Georgia’s election law is not the return of ‘Jim Crow,’ instead, it is the return to voter confidence in our election system—and that is the true driver of democratic participation.”
