Honest Elections Project Action Reacts to Senate Democrats’ Failed Attempt to Undermine Laws at Committee Hearing

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action
“Today’s Senate Judiciary Subcommittee hearing put the Democrats’ efforts to gut state voting integrity measures on full display. With S.1, H.R. 4, and now the “Freedom to Cheat Act,” the left is pushing hard for a federal takeover of elections that gives unelected bureaucrats the power to veto commonsense state laws that ensure the integrity of our elections. Furthermore, these bills end even the most basic protections like voter ID, which is overwhelmingly supported by Americans of all political persuasions and racial and ethnic groups. These bills also undermine efforts to maintain accurate voter rolls, encourage politicized lawsuits, and risk chaos in future elections. We believe it should be easy to vote and hard to cheat. These efforts make it easy to cheat and hard to stop it, further eroding trust in our democratic process.”
