Honest Elections Project Action Urges House Passage of Legislation Requiring Proof of Citizenship to Vote

Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project Action, released the following statement:

“American elections should be decided by American citizens. Polling from Honest Elections Project shows overwhelming opposition to noncitizen voting. But right now, courts have twisted federal law to make it illegal to require proof of citizenship before registering someone to vote. Fixing that flaw shouldn’t be a partisan issue, but the left is fighting hard to keep it easy for noncitizens to register and vote.

“House Democrats claim noncitizens do not vote, but their own signature election bill, H.R. 1, included amnesty for noncitizens who illegally vote. Meanwhile, left-wing politicians are pushing blue cities to legalize non-citizen voting and fighting state ballot measures to ban it.

“Honest Elections Project Action strongly urges the House to advance the SAVE Act. It’s a shame that Democrats and the Left have turned a common-sense effort to ban noncitizen voting into a partisan issue.”
